Colour coordinated books..

There's nothing more I love than seeing a jam packed book case - I adore the way it looks, the different colours, fonts and sizes down the spines of each book. The personality it adds to a space, I always think you can add such a personal, welcoming touch to an environment by filling it with your favourite and most loved books.

I've collected a fair amount of books over my 21 years - From high school and college to my foundation year and University I've pretty much always studied the arts or fashion, with that (I'm sure you art students will know) I've accumulated a lot of books - New or old, battered of pristine each one I treasure as a visual aid to inspire me. Take a look...

These are the books I keep in Cardiff, they're mainly the ones I use for my degree or are new to my collection, like this Grace Coddington book that I actually got for Christmas - Only just sitting down to read it. We don't have a bookshelf at the moment, so I stack them in a semi colour/size coordinated order in a little annex we have in the flat, I personally love the way it looks.

I find a lot of my books in TK Maxx, if you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know my love for this place. Try have a good rummage you can normally find some crackers for a bargain and as my mum says "it's cheaper than buying a good magazine" - a good mantra to go by!

If you have any questions about any of the books in my collection, feel free to ask!
What are your favourite books? I'd love to know...

  1. I completely agree, there's nothing nicer than a beautiful new book (although old vintage magazines can be nice too!)
I've just finished a blog post on the new journal I've bought - I'd love if you would have a look!

  3. I agree, best to get them out there than to store them away. My latest book purchases are Vintage Clothing by The Vintage Showroom, mega menswear book and I've also recommend Roadside America for amazing American goodness

  6. I'm reading Grace Coddington's memoirs at the minute too, such an inspirational lady!
My weaknesses are books and magazines, most of my money goes on them! Great idea to colour co-ordinate!

  7. I love having books out on display, especially hardbacks! It's great how they can be useful and decorative at the same time :)
