Long time no see...

I'm back from my blogging sabbatical - I've felt a little uninspired the past couple of weeks along with the big stressful task of finding me a summer job, which I can proudly say I succeeded. It took a few bouts of unsuccessful interviews, but with a bit of determination anything is possible.

The weather here in the UK has been unbelievable for the past month or so, of course we've been making the most of every inch of sunshine by sitting out in the garden. I thought I'd show you all, the gorgeous little table display my parents have at home, it's really easy to recreate with things you might have at home. Enjoy...

Doesn't everything looks pretty under that 6pm summer evening light, it's just perfect. I know I'll look back on these photos in mid November and lust for those close July nights. If you have any questions about anything in the photos, feel free to ask.

What's everyone been up to? I'd love to know...

Après holiday foot spa...

Pre holiday pampering before jetting of on holiday is always a must - whether it's painting your toes or waxing your legs, it's all in aid to feel ultra special and beach ready on your trip. Although, I always find I need the pampering after the holiday - sore feet from too much walking (dancing) and dry skin from basking in the sunshine, here's how to have a luxurious at home après holiday foot spa...

You'll need a towel, a big bowl full of hot water (it's best to go hotter and let it cool) and some sort of foot soak. The one used in the pictures is a foot fizz, but obviously substitute it for something you have, maybe a bubble bath, an essential oil, it doesn't matter as long it's soothing and smells nice!

You can add lavender and petals to get some natural ingredients in the mix or too make it look super pretty. Me and my mum both had one sat out in our back garden in the sunshine at the weekend, so soothing and luxurious for something so simple.

What do you guys do to pamper yourselves? I'd love to know...

Weekending

We've been surprised by warm sunshine, tiny Shetland ponies and lot of (too much) Tequila - A few snaps from the weekend. It's been a busy one...

I could sleep for a week - the signs of a good weekend to me! Now it's the first week of my summer holidays, got a dissertation to write and a bag full of clothes to go on ebay.

What have you guys been up to this weekend? I'd love to know...

Presenting flowers in a tea towel

Now summer is finally approaching, the sunshines bringing parties and BBQ's. I always think it's a sweet gesture to take the host a token gift. Here's a simple and affordable way of presenting a bunch of flowers for your party host, all you need is a tea towel and some fresh blooms.

You can pick up a traditional tea towel like this in most home stores for pounds - it's nice to go for a classic colour and print that will compliment your flowers and be in keeping with the rustic theme. As for the lovely flowers, these were bought from Aldi, putting two bunches together bulks them out a little making them seem more expensive than they are.

To fasten up your flowers loop some twine around the middle of the tea towel and tie with a knot. You can add a large brown label with a stamped message to your gift to add a personal touch suited to the occasion.

I think this makes such a lovely gift for someone - obviously it doesn't have to be a gesture for a host, it would make a great house warming present or for a cooking fanatics birthday. Adapt as you please...

Have you got any unusual ways of presenting flowers? Let me know if you try this and definitely send me a photo, I'd love to see them...

I've been shopping #9

I've been going through a bit of a lull in terms of my wardrobe recently - sometimes I think it's because I study fashion, I start to lose interest in buying clothes for myself as I'm faced with it everyday. Then I blame the weather, just ridiculously unpredictable, I never know what to wear.

Whilst out shopping the other day, I spotted these shirts in the window of GAP - now, I can't say I'm not a regular GAP shopper, I think the last item I'd warn from there was most probably from the kids section. But, I think I've rekindled my love for it. I adore the two things I've bought and will definitely be returning. Take a look...

So, I definitely got that colour thing I was after. Both shirts were in the sale and I'm pretty sure are still in store for around £20-£30. They're the "boyfriend fit" so a really comfy but flattering loose style, I love all the subtle detailing, lots of buttons and tucks. Just a really great all round basic for summer.

What have you guys been buying for Summer? I'd love to know...
